Meet the Founder

I believe healing should feel deeply personal. For years, I felt a nudge toward this path—a calling that stayed quiet until God pushed me forward, reminding me that purpose is always bigger than fear.

Milkweed & Honey Apothecary wasn’t born in a boardroom; it was born in the hillsides of Southern California and nurtured through a life lived close to the earth. My journey has been one of dirt under my fingernails—learning the rhythms of permaculture, the strength of adobe building, and the ancient wisdom of herbalism.

It's More Than a Remedy. I know what it’s like to feel disconnected from your own wellness. I know the frustration of searching for products that honor both your body and your spirit, only to find labels full of chemicals and empty promises.

I know the frustration of a medicine cabinet full of "gentle" creams that still sting, and that sinking feeling when a new flare-up starts just as you thought things were getting better.

I was tired of products that only masked the problem or, worse, made it flare. I didn't just want a moisturizer; I wanted a sanctuary.

That’s why I returned to the roots.

Every herb we use is grown naturally on our farm or sourced with deep ethical respect. Our Tallow line is crafted with Halal-certified, grass-finished fats, ensuring that every jar honors tradition and purity. I began pairing this nutrient-dense "skin superfood" with plant-derived squalane and therapeutic herbs—not because they were trendy, but because they worked. For the first time, my skin didn’t just look better; it felt quiet. The constant itch, the stubborn dryness, and the reactive redness finally settled.

I didn’t start this brand to be just another bottle on a shelf. I started it for the mother who is tired of seeing her child hurting and uncomfortable.

Building a Community, One Step at a Time Milkweed & Honey is about more than what’s inside the jar. It’s an invitation to shift your life—to start that first garden, to learn how a simple plant can soothe a flare-up, and to finally slow down and listen to what your body and spirit are asking for.

Whether you are here for a tallow balm to soothe reactive, eczema-prone skin or you’re looking to reconnect with nature’s medicine, you are welcome here. This is a space for teaching, inspiring, and growing together.

Thank you for being here at the beginning. I can’t wait to grow with you.

From my hands to yours,

Jalila A
